It is a sad fact that Irish wolfhounds are not long-lived, the majority dying at
the age of seven. As a rule of thumb, a multiple of ten can be used to approximate
their age to human years - for example, a seven year old wolfhound has had
his 'three score years and ten', whilst a ten year old would, if human, qualify
for a telegram from the Queen. These pages pay tribute to much loved wolfhounds from across the world, each of them missed and remembered by their families. We will never forget our own three, very special, wolfhounds past: |

If you would like to email us photographs of your wolfhound(s) past we would be happy to add them to our 'Garden of Remembrance'. |
Clancy 24 May 1996 ~ 16 November 1999 Clancy was our first wolfhound bitch, our very special golden girl who broke our hearts when she died after a six month illness at the age of only three-and-a-half. More about Clancy |
McGinty 15 May 1994 ~ 31 May 2002 McGinty was our first wolfhound, forever our 'main man'. A legend in his own lifetime (perhaps that should be 'his own dinnertime'), he was the inspiration for this website but died aged eight before it could be completed. More about McGinty |
Chewbacca 12 May 1995 - 26 March 2004 Chewie was our much loved 'adopted son', who, with superb timing, needed a home just after Clancy's death. He quickly won our hearts. H is death came just before his ninth birthday. More about Chewbacca |
