Everything you've always wanted to know about wolfhounds . . . and a few things you probably didn't.
The menu below leads to a miscellany of general interesting (maybe) information about the breed, plus some practical tips that we've picked up over the years. Some of the pages are light-hearted, some more serious.
Good information can be hard to find.
This menu links to pages describing our experiences
and containing information about specific health or behavioural problems we have encountered with individual wolfhounds.
We must emphasise that we're neither experts nor breeders, merely enthusiastic and committed owners who have lived with wolfhounds since 1994. During that time we have known and loved eight wolfhounds, read widely about the breed, met and talked to many breeders, joined breed clubs, shown our dogs, taken part in obedience training and competition - and learnt how to cope when training fails. We have faced and dealt with our dogs' illnesses and injuries, and six times we have made the decision to release a beloved wolfhound from life. In spite of that, we're still learning about the breed and will continue to do so for as long as we are privileged to share our home and our hearts with them.
