Liberation Day

Liberation Day, commemorating Guernsey's liberation from German occupying forces in 1945, is our annual 'national' holiday and is celebrated across the island.

This year, the 65th anniversary, we took part in a street party and barbecue organised by our neighbours. With our field being designated as the children's playground for the day you can guess what the main attraction was (after the inflatable slide and bouncy castle, of course) . . .
