Molly lived in Colchester with Terri and Phil Sharlott, Sashka the Afghan, Oliver the cat and Coolie & Antham the horses.

In June 2001, when Terri and Phil went to choose a wolfhound they fell in love with Molly when she tried to walk under a stool and got stuck! How could they say no?

She promptly took over their house, their lives, their hearts, their sofa . . .

Molly's first contribution to the family was to teach Sashka to sing. To this day they regularly duet, much to the neighbours'  enjoyment!

Her second contribution was to give Sashka the confidence to continually run away, the girls believing they were off hunting together.

Her third was to prove the theory that dogs look like their owners (Phil, that is, not Terri, though he wouldn't send a photo so we can't vouch for it).

Her fourth was alerting the Sharlotts to a problem with the electric cables running into the house and saving them from a terrible fire.

She had without doubt the biggest character and personality that Terri had ever known in a dog - how could they not love her . . . ?

In October 2007, Molly was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer). The vet said that wolfhounds don't adapt well to three legs . . . best to call it a day. Although Terri and Phil had always trusted their vet they wanted another opinion. They researched on the internet and found videos on of 'tripod' wolfhounds on YouTube. This glimmer of hope gave them the courage to take it further, and they found a specialist clinic that luckily was only about 30 miles from them. There, Dr Susan North convinced them that Molly had a fighting chance, and thanks to the care and expertise of Susan, Laurent and all at the clinic, the rest, as they say, is history . . .
It was tough after the operations, but Molly let Terri do all that was needed with no grumbling, and she never stopped fighting. In February 208 Molly completed her chemotherapy course and has returned to 'work' - supervising the horses and singing duets with Sashka!
