Odin from Norway |
"Before we got Odin we agreed that no dog would ever sleep in our bed . . .let’s
just say we changed our mind pretty quick! I mean it’s only natural that that poor
little puppy couldn’t sleep on the cold hard floor! But when he finally outgrew our bed (1m 20cm wide with two adults and one wolfhound can at times get kind of crowded) we got him a highly recommended and very expensive bed which he absolutely adored. But for some reason he felt it needed a bit of remodelling . . .but now (with a new cover) he seems content with it." |

"One of his favourite toys is empty plastic soda bottles. Why? They make plenty a
great noise when you run around with them and chew on them at the same time!" |
"Odin absolutely adores snow. The more the better (it’s a good thing we live in Norway!). It’s good for hiding stuff in (it’s so much easier to dig in than dirt), marvellous for running and if you get thirsty you can just bend down and take a mouthful of icy cold soon-to-melt-into-water stuff. And after a good run in the snow it’s always great to relax with dad." |
"Once a week he meets up with our wolfhound pals Anoubis (1½ years) and Tara (almost
4) for fun and play (Anoubis on the left, Odin in the middle and Tara
on the right). Odin's breeder also stops by when she is in the area and brings a relative or two to see us." |

"These photos were taken at Korgen in the north, near Mo I Rana, on a visit Odin's
breeder. It had snowed a LOT and the dogs really got a good workout on our walk
in the snow.Odin collapsed on the floor when we got back (hey even a big boy
can get tired:)" |

"We've been practising catching snow-balls all winter, and by the end of the season
Odin was actually quite good :) He still loves snow and went running around
to every last patch of melting snow to enjoy it before it disappeared for good!" |

"The week before Easter, we took care of Odin's best wolfie pal, Anoubis, while her
"parents" were in Italy. The dogs had the best time, and we went for long walks
in the woods close to our house every day. Odin's appetite sky-rocketed in
the competition for food (he's never been a big eater) and he started to hang out
with Anoubis by the kitchen door close to feeding time. Odin thought that it
would be great if Anoubis could stay with us for ever (and so did we:) but we
all know how much she loves her mum and dad, so we had to settle for meeting her
for our usual playtimes instead:)" |
"Spring came unusually early this year, and our playing field was beautifully green
just after Easter:) This is where we usually meet up with Anoubis and our other
wolfie friend Tara to have a good time together. Lars and Odin are waiting
patiently for Anoubis and her mum Ingrid to arrive . . . |
"I don't know about other wolfies, but Odin is not a big fan of water that isn't
in his waterdish! But during one of the warmer days now in May, he waded carefully
out into a little lake in the woods . . . although it was veeery scary of course.
I mean . . . you never know when water will turn around and attack you!" |

. . . and here she comes!!! Finally! Time to strech our legs:)" |

"We've just spent a week at a cabin in the mountains of northern Norway. The weather
wasn't that great, but we had some really nice hiking trips. Odin even spotted
a pack of reindeer, although we didn't see Santa Claus :) |
We made a few trips to the beach but it was too cold for swimming. (You can still
see some snow in the mountain behind Odin on the picture, and the temperature
was about 15-17 degrees Celsius) Odin felt that water up to his ankles would do
for this year! |
Afternoons were spent warming up in bed and reading Harry Potter . . . |
The girl running for her life is Lars' daughter, Ida:) Odin found a stick which he
was determined to get loose. He worked on it for days, but finally had to give
up . . . and then found another stick for mom to throw . . . she threw it too
far of course!!! More practice mom!!! |
We also went for a trip to the beach with Odin's half brothers Sargon and Cartoon
(7 months) and their mother Namara (the gray one). Despite the lousy weather we had a nice vacation:)" |
Odin, born on 7 April 2004, was Sylvia Dahlerg and Lars Kristian Granlund's first
wolfhound. |
