Island Dog Training Club Christmas Party
10 December 2003
Paul and Branigan
Branigan and Darcy say a big 'Thank you'!
Every year, the Island Dog Training Club organises Christmas parties for members and their dogs. It's debatable who has more fun, the dogs or their owners, with games such as Retrieve the Sausage, Musical Positions, and the Chocolate Drop Race . . .
Branigan promises Dad he'll be good at his first Christmas party.
The last event was a recall against the clock, at which Darcy gave a perfect demonstration of
a wolfhound recall by ignoring Anne altogether and heading straight for the food counter!!

She was put to shame by Branigan, who made made straight for his Dad when called,
winning a vote of sympathy because of his limp - aaaahh!
The party was a roaring (or should that be howling?) success. A very big thank you to all who worked so hard to organise it, especially Mandy, Lilian, Penny, Anton and Madeleine.

Archie and Martin
Archie-the-Yorkie
Archie and friend
Don't you find that at every party, there's always someone who's completely overdressed??!
This time it was Archie-the-Yorkie, who felt so grand in his Christmas antlers that
he was ready to take on all-comers, up to and including the Pyreneen Mountain Dog.
Darcy and Pete
Pete and Milo
Martin and Archie, Pete and Milo
Darcy appears very taken with Pete's Christmas hat but it was the treats in his pocket she wanted.
Pete's dog, Milo, is wondering why parents always seem to do their best to embarrass you in front of all your friends - he'll never look Archie in the face again.

Holly

Ebony
Tess-the-Flat-Coated-Retriever and Holly-the-Chocolate-Lab show that it really is possible for your eyes to light up with excitement!
Misty-the-Black-Lab has a go at the Obstacle Race, and sister Ebony shows how it should be done.
Darcy and Branigan, having come last in Muscal Mats and the Obstacle Race, volunteer to help with sausage rolls and mince pies-
but just what do they have in mind??!
The Chocolate Drop Race
Pass the Parcel
Branigan was last in the Chocolate Drop Race as he took the time to savour every one . . .
. . .  but he won
Pass the Parcel paws down.
You're supposed to bring the sausage back, Darcy!
The losing team!
The excitement mounts!
The excitement mounts as the teams prepare for Retrieve- the-Sausage. It must said that we had far too many labs in our team to stand a chance, the winners being those whose dogs return the most sausage!
Mind you, Darcy wasn't much help - where's the sausage, Darce?
