The Scarecrow Trail
29th July 2007
Every year, our home parish of Torteval organises a two-day scarecrow trail to raise funds for good causes. The whole community enters into the spirit of the occasion, with dozens of highly imaginative scarecrows being pain-stakingly constructed and entered into the competition. Islanders and visitors alike flock to the event in their hundreds, to follow a trail of colourful scarecrows through the Torteval lanes.

This year, we took Hogan and McKenna along to share in the fun . . .

(Our apologies - the photos aren't as good as we had hoped . . .
but try taking photos with one hand whilst holding onto an excited wolfhound
with the other and you'll appreciate our problem!)
