* T.A.N. is a short obedience test ("test de caractère") involving heelwork, walking
past people and dogs, stopping to talk to people; staying calm during a distraction
such as coins rattling in a box and umbrella opening, and demonstrating
a friendly nature with people. ** Confirmation for Irish wolfhounds cannot be done before they are fifteen months old. The judge checks ears, teeth, stance, tail, paws, etc. The dog can then be registered in "le livre des origines françaises" recording his pedigree. |
