Bert 4 August 2004 - 18 March 2005 Bert was Saffron Penny's second wolfhound, an eagerly awaited puppy for her and her
family after the death of their beloved wolfhound Oscar. Bert's heart- breaking
death at just seven months old was due to a dysfunctional liver causing porto-systemic
shunt, which was undetected on routine testing. |
Abbie May 2000 - 19 July 2005 Abbie was a very special young lady, a beautiful princess, bred, owned and very much
loved by Fran Smith-King and Bill Barnbrook. Her temperament was exceptional
- she was always happy and adored everyone and everything, even the cats were
welcomed and fussed. |
Berrin 20 February - 5 September 2005 Berrin was Ewa Boldok and Rob Link's second Irish wolfhound, and was a sweet, quiet
boy. All he wanted in life was to be loved and be with his people and his wolfhound
friends, Cherokee and Hunter. A spinal problem cut his life tragically
short, and he died at just five months old, leaving his family bereft. |
Geraldine 26 July 1996 - 29 September 2005 Geraldine was the mother of Zoltán Oláh & Roxy Robitz's first litter. She loved digging
holes for them to step in and was always the first to start running when
the dogs went out in the field. She had many show successes both in her own country
of Hungary and elsewhere, and died peacefully, a grand old lady of nine years
and three months. |
Alfie 27 March 1999 - 29 Sept 2005 Alfie was greatly loved by Sue Highfield and her family of Norwich, Norfolk. In his
prime he weighed 12st and stood 36-37", but he was plagued by illness after
suffering from sceptic arthritis at the age of four. His immune system was weakened,
and he eventually lost the use of his back legs. Alf was put to sleep at
the age of six-and-a-half, and is so sadly missed. |
Seamus 19 Dec 2004 - 27 April 2005 Seamus's health was poor from about 13 weeks, and he was finally diagnosed with brittle bone disease for which there is no cure. His owners, Janet and Mike Bradshaw of Shropshire, had to make the terrible decision to have him put to sleep. In his short time he enjoyed life to the full, and despite several operations, was always a happy- go-lucky little chap. |
Tekla March 2000 - October 2005 Tekla was the first wolhfound of Anna and Thomas Blom of Malmo in Sweden. She was loving and kind, funny and intelligent, and the level of communication they had with her was amazing. She died at the age of five, just 16 hours after coming 2nd in a lure coursing competion, as a result of inhaling some grass. |

pic) Dinah February 1997 - July 2005 Julie Domaille from Guernsey had always wanted an Irish wolfhound, but it was her
husband, John, who in spring 2000, spotted an advert in the local paper for a
wolfhound needing a good home. Dinah wasn't the easiest of wolfhounds - she was
an incorrigible thief and suffered from agoraphobia, but the whole family took
her to their hearts and adored her, and they all miss her to this day. |
